Recent winter weather and the COVID-19 pandemic are among some of the reasons why the American Red Cross is experiencing its “worst blood shortage in over a decade.” The Red Cross is saying that the shortage is so bad that hospitals are starting to make decisions on which patients need a blood transfusion and which ones do not. TV2’s Shane Troyano investigates how a “perfect storm” of issues led to this shortage and how people can help out.

Ukraine and Russia war was an expected conflict for a long time because of the tension between these European countries. Many western countries reacted and took a position over this conflict and sanctioned these actions. Economic, political, and war studies specialists are concerned about the possible outcome over worldwide society and how it will affect some world powers like the United States. Russia’s recent invasion of Ukraine forced oil prices above $100 a barrel causing gasoline prices to spike upwards. The national average for gasoline in the U.S. rose to $3.65 a gallon, 12 cents more than last week. “Current geopolitical tensions could send the national average price of gas above $4 per gallon by Memorial Day,” GasBuddy spokesperson Nicole Peterson said.
