Anchor: The Influenza virus that curses the season is back and more infectious than usual.
Anchor: As you just saw, germs spread easily by even the simplest thing of opening a door. On college campus’, with thousands of students, germs spread relatively quicker.
Nurse: As of yesterday, February 19th, we have had 103 confirmed positive cases of influenza.
Nurse: Most students experience feeling generalized fatigue, sometimes sore muscles, body aches, fever of 100, 101, 102, even as high as 103 degrees Fahrenheit.
Anchor: Although the flu is not completely avoidable, there are techniques designed to prevent catching the virus!
Nurse: The best and number one thing you can do to prevent the flu is wash your hands, wash your hands, wash your hands!
Anchor: Soap and water may not always be available, so Kent State has installed hand sanitizer stations all around campus as a substitute, like this one.
Nurse: If you are looking for a flu shot at this point in the season, what I would recommend is that you call the main line 330- 672-2322.
Anchor: Although, in most cases this virus is not deadly, utilize there prevention techniques and keep yourself healthy!
