Kent State’s new president, Beverly Warren, is currently focused on her listening tour. I spoke with Eric Mansfield to find out what events were in the tour.
The listening tour has 50 events total. During the summer she visited all 7 regional campuses to learn how each one operates in their community. She wants to focus on making all 8 campuses feel like one cohesive university with her one campus initiative .
Now that the semester has started she is visiting alumni groups in the area and departments on campus. According to Mansfield, alumni act as ambassadors for Kent State and are a valuable source of input for our new president.
Later in the semester Dr. Warren will be traveling to cities like New York and Orlando to hear from alumni about how Kent State is perceived outside of Ohio.
What Dr. Warren learns in her listening tour what issues at Kent State she will focus on first.
