Alpha Phi Promotes Heart Health

ANCHOR INTRO:The sisters of Alpha Phi raised over $32,000 to donate to the American Heart Association during their “Go Red” week.  The week consisted of multiple events involving all of Kent State University’s greek life such as King of Hearts.  Members of greek life performed skits and danced the night away to promote heart health.  Then ending the week with a fashion show at their 10th annual Red Dress Gala. During the Gala a few of the sisters explained how heart disease has directly impacted their lives.

You are overlooking the 10th annual Red Dress Gala. The final event of the Alpha Phi sorority, Go Red week. Alpha Phi hosted multiple events throughout the week such as Get Fit with the Phi’s and King of Hearts in order to promote heart health and raise money. Alpha Phi active member Hanna Dupee, explains why raising money for this charity is so important to her and her sisters.

Hana also shared her story during the Gala, before ending the night in style with a fashion show. The sisters raised over $32,000 to donate to the American Heart Association. The money will go to a good cause, saving people like Hanna’s lives.
