Don’t Want to Shovel? ‘Snow’ Problem, says Kent.
Winter in Northeast Ohio this year has come with a lot of snowfall and ice. Many residents around the Kent area have not shoveled their sidewalks even though there is a law that requires residents to shovel. The law states that after 24 hours of snowfall residents must clear their sidewalks out front of their property, if this is not done within 24 hours, a warning then leads to a $100 fine, but enforcement of this is rare. This has led to people walking in the road and dangerous situations for both the driver and pedestrian. TV2’s Anna Louden spoke with the city about the law and why it is not being enforced.
